I like the challenge and the satisfaction that the complete photographic process brings. I enjoy the seeing and discovery. The journey to find, capture and print an image is one of self-exploration and discipline.
In the summer of 1922 Alfred Stieglitz challenged himself to photograph a series of clouds. In homage to Stieglitz I decided to undertake the same challenge. What began as an exercise soon became an obsession. I found myself staring out the window watching as I ate, watching the clouds as I was driving, and literally jumping out of bed in the morning to see what the light of day would bring. Clouds have worked their way into my spiritual understanding of nature’s strength and wisdom. One section of my cloud image collection is an extensive portfolio of storm clouds or Dark Skies.
